I am seeing more and more of my friends, colleagues started to leave me day after day, and they are not even 60 yet… some even in their 30s or 40s…. sigh!

The only consolation I have for them is at least their death is not “draggy”…

Just two days ago, I had another colleague hospitalized due to stroke, he is 56 year old.

I have heard enough loose talks in the hospital and in their wakes about ‘How these things could possibly happen to a person who exercises often?” Is exercise a myth?

Obviously these people have the wrong perception of health; exercise is only one small part of maintaining health, there are more to health than just exercise.

To me, health is a holistic entity which encompasses of Physical, mental and spiritual. Most of these people only focus on the physical, and yet they are not doing that right either.

The exercise that we commonly know is more for cardio, because the heart needs to convert our body Qi into mechanical energy to have work done. When we are young that is fine, because our hormone can still re-generate new cell, but when we are aged, especially after 35, some even earlier due to pre-mature aging, our body stops replenishing; imagine the cement that used to hold the walls together started to dried up and crack, if we don’t replace it with new cement, what will happen to the high wall?

Hence if we exert a lot, we better know how to nutrient our body well, if not those ‘free radicals’  will get us sooner than we thought, and started to develop all kind of diseases, include cancers, heart disease etc.

Hence, once we are above 30 years old, we better change the way we exercise, if not we will head into serious problems when we are in the 40s onwards.

The things I talk so much about above is just one dimension of health, what about the Mental and spiritual health?

Stress and our urbanised life style is the main culprit for our mental and the spiritual disorders. And not many of us know how to deal with it. Most of us know about it, but not many of us are able to control it and prevent it from harming our health.

For those who is able to relate my experience here; I want to share with you one simple and effective way, which i have discovered lately, in alleviating and combating these culprits is – “being mindful” of how we live our life. Learn to enjoy our ‘present’ and take up Zhineng Qigong and go in depth into it.

My health indicator as previously discussed in the post here is - ”if you still able to enjoy sex and feel sensual about yourself”, you’re still very much healthy. But don’t wait till you’re ‘unable’ then you start to take thing seriously, that is far too late. The ‘nature’ way of nourishing and maintainly our body takes time. Hence ‘an apple a day keep the sickness away’  principle is real, just take a few moment a day to practice Zhineng, and make good love regularly will benefit us in a long long way in living our life.

Let’s live longer and die shorter!
